Yang Cheng Fu Said -In the schools of Wushu (Martial Arts) which concentrate on the use of external force (external schools), the strength that is developed is finite, it has connections and breaks. Under this system, when the old strength has been used up, new strength has to be developed. It is this “strength gap” which can be used by one’s opponent to their advantage.

– In Tai Chi (the internal school), will (mind) rather than force is used. From beginning to end, movements are continuous and without interruption. Movements are circular and keep resuming; they revolve and have no limits. The classics liken it to “A great river rolling on unceasingly” and say that the circulation of inner strength resembles the “Unravelling of silk from a cocoon”. All of this refers to the continuous nature of Tai Chi movements.

Practical points: control your movements so that they are slow, even and continuous, gradually your inner force will develop which will become unceasing. Think of the circular path of each movement, in Tai Chi every movement is in curve or circle that has no ending or beginning.
